2x Børge Mogensen cognac-Leather and Oak, Spanish Chair for Fredericia, 1960

A beautiful old pair of Børge Mogensen’s iconic Spanish Chairs, model 226, produced by Fredericia Stolefabrik, Denmark, and finished in their original cognac saddle leather. Purchased from the first owners, who acquired them in late 1960s.

The oak frames have developed a warm, golden patina and remain structurally strong, showcasing the timeless quality of Mogensen’s craftsmanship. The substantial saddle leather is original and wonderfully aged, with rich patina, light staining, and age-appropriate character throughout. Hand-stitched detailing and brass buckle fastenings secure the thick leather slings and highlight the artisanal construction. The wide solid-oak armrests function beautifully as small side tables, adding both practicality and sculptural presence.

A pair that has been lovingly cared for, embodying both handsome aesthetics and enduring functionality—an unwavering classic of Danish design history.

The chairs are marked, as showed on the pictures.
