Arne Vodder Teak/Rattan Chair "Model 51" for Sibast Furniture, 1950 Denmark
Rare vintage Danish design teak/rattan chair designed by Arne Vodder for Sibast Furniture in the 1950s. Arne Vodder was trained by Finn Juhl and eventually became his business partner. He studied under Juhl at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. His designs are often inspired by nature and have organic, elegant shapes.
This model 51 chair is one of Vodder’s early designs for Sibast. The chair features distinct armrests, beautiful combination of teak wood and rattan seat and backrest and very pleasant seating comfort. The design is rarely seen and highly sought after by collectors. x
