Extra large Danish design wall system or shelving unit by Poul Cadovius for Royal System, designed in Denmark in 1960s. When you ask someone to think of an European midcentury wall unit, most will probably think of Poul Cadovius and his shelving system. It is without doubt the most famous wall unit of the Danish modern era. Cadovius started his own company Royal System in 1945 and came up with the idea for his "Royal System Shelving Unit" in 1948. It was this idea of building a storage solution with maximized floor space and a modular construction that made him one of the most recognized designers of Danish Mid-Century Modern design. His shelving system is still a very popular item today. This vintage wall system is made of: 5 wall slats of 203 cm, a cabinet with drawers inside, a cabinet with glass shelve inside, two cabinets with shelves and nine book shelves. Those components are attached to the wooden risers with metal hooks. The system is completely modular so you can place the components to your wishes. Two of the cabinets have a repair as you can see in the last picture, it's a repair that makes it even stronger.
